American actress Gena Rowlands has died

American actress Gena Rowlands, the muse of her husband director John Cassavetes, died on Wednesday at the age of 94, reported the American specialist website TMZ and the New York Times.
  
Gena Rowlands, who made her name in “A Woman Under the Influence” (1974), had been suffering from Alzheimer's disease for five years, according to statements made by her son Nick Cassavetes to the New York Times in June.
 
The luminous blonde, a figure of American independent cinema, had established herself in some sixty eclectic roles, under the direction of her husband, as well as Woody Allen and Jim Jarmusch.
