Presidential election: a Sunday at stake for Mélenchon, Zemmour and Jadot

Yannick Jadot at the Zenith in Paris, Jean-Luc Mélenchon in Marseille, Eric Zemmour at the Trocadero... Three presidential candidates held a meeting this Sunday, March 27. For each of them, these militant gatherings should give a decisive impulse less than two weeks before the first round of the presidential election.
 
At the Trocadero, Eric Zemmour wants to make a show of force and gather 50 000 people. In decline in the polls since the beginning of the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, the momentum no longer seems to be in the camp of the candidate of Reconquest.
 
Eric Zemmour is playing a game of chance with this meeting on an emblematic site for the right: Nicolas Sarkozy and François Fillon had also gathered thousands of supporters there, without succeeding in reversing the steam of ultimately losing campaigns. Eric Zemmour hopes to succeed and regain the ascendancy over Marine Le Pen, who will be in Guadeloupe, and over Valérie Pécresse, who is suffering from Covid-19.
 
A few blocks away, the environmentalist Yannick Jadot is also organizing a crucial rally at the Zenith with the ambition of breaking the deadlock in a campaign in which he has failed to bring environmental issues into the atmosphere.
 
On the left, the only candidate who is scoring points is Jean-Luc Mélenchon, who is gathering his troops in Marseille, his city of election. Objective: to gain enough momentum to reach the second round, by coming to bite the calves of Marine Le Pen who is ahead of him in the polls and thus win the popular electorate on April 10.
