Islamic State seizes 14 tonnes of amphetamines produced in Syria by Italy

Italian police announced on Wednesday a record seizure of 14 tonnes of amphetamines, in the form of 84 million captagon tablets produced in Syria by the Islamic State (IS) group.

 

This take in the port of Salerno (south of Naples) is worth a billion euros on the market, said a statement from the Italian police, referring to "the largest seizure of amphetamines worldwide ».
