Austrian Tyrol hit by two earthquakes last night

The Swiss Seismological Service at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich recorded two earthquakes about 8 km southwest of Imst, in Austrian Tyrol.

The first tremor, with a magnitude of 4.0 on the Richter scale, occurred at 9.44 p.m. Saturday. The second, of magnitude 3, took place on Sunday at 2:50 a.m.

According to the seismological service of the Austrian Central Institute of Meteorology and Geodynamics (ZAMG), the first tremor was felt within a radius of 50 km. It has been felt as far as Switzerland, especially in Graubünden, according to testimonies collected by the Swiss Seismological Service.

Regarding the second tremor, the Swiss Seismological Service indicates that it was probably felt quite strongly near the epicenter.

As a general rule, damage is not expected for earthquakes of this magnitude.
