Mar-a-Lago, the huge mansion where Donald Trump will take refuge on Wednesday morning, the day of Joe Biden's inauguration.

With 48 hours to go before the swearing-in of the new President of the United States, Joe Biden, we now know where his predecessor Donald Trump will be at the same time. He will leave Washington just before the ceremony to go to his prestigious residence in Florida, where he plans to live from now on.

At dawn on January 20, Donald Trump will take his helicopter from the White House to Andrew Military Base in Maryland for his final flight on Air Force One. The presidential plane will then take him to Palm Beach, Florida, to his famous Mar-a-Lago residence club, purchased in 1985.

Aaron Kall, professor at the University of Michigan: He made it official a few weeks ago by saying he wasn't going to come, and President Biden seems to be in favor of it and said he would be okay with him not being there under the circumstances

The vacation residence of Donald Trump has among others 58 rooms, 33 bathrooms, 2 swimming pools, 5 tennis courts and of course a golf course. He would like to move there with his family.  His daughter Ivanka could even be a candidate in Florida for the senatorial elections in 2022.

This installation will not necessarily be easy because the municipality of Palm Beach had concluded an agreement in 93 that Mar-a-Lago would not become Donald Trump's principal residence.

Normally during the State of the Union address, the incoming president thanks the outgoing president for his service to the nation and possibly says a few words of sympathy. That will be harder to do since Trump won't be there, Kall said.

This is the first time since 1869 that an outgoing president will not attend the swearing in of his successor. However, Vice President Mike Pence, who has been saying goodbye to the Army, will be in attendance at the ceremony.
