Stranger Things season 4: what we know about the return of Netflix's flagship series

 Steph Deschamps / Mars 3, 2021

The least we can say is that the continuation of the adventures of Will, Eleven, Mike, Dustin and the others is long awaited... and that information about him is rare!

July 4, 2019: The date of the third season of Stranger Things on Netflix already seems far, very far away... And season 4 is not about to land on the streaming platform! Although we don't know much about it, a few clues gleaned here and there - and especially on the social networks of the actors or Netflix - allow us to know that if the shootings have been largely delayed, due to the global health crisis, they have finally resumed, more than six months late!

As Netflix announced in its last report: Production of some of our most important programs has resumed, including season 4 of 'Stranger Things'. We're all very excited to get back to work, but the priority is the safety of the crew, he said in an interview with the Hollywood Reporter.

Big unknown: the release date. If on his Instagram account, David Harbour (Sheriff Jim Hopper) explained that the fourth season was initially planned for early 2021, production delays suggest an exit for the end of this year 2021 (just before Halloween as for season 2?), or even early 2022. Fans will have to be patient!

What we do know, however, is the answer to the big question at the end of the third season. (Watch out spoiler.) Is Sheriff Jim Hopper still alive? Yes, according to the teaser posted by Netflix a year ago (which made more than 18 million views on Youtube!), captioned From Russia with love..., and in which he appears in close-up, assigned to forced labor under the snow. This season 4 will therefore take place (in part?) in Russia, with, he whispers, a shooting planned in Lithuanian sets.

Another certainty, this next season will be very dark, very hard! It's Finn Wolfhard, Mike's interpreter, who dropped the song in an interview on CBS News. Every season gets darker... Every year it gets more intense, he explained. With season 3, I thought it was the darkest season possible, with the rats exploding and everything else. But really, season 4 is by far the darkest. Every year it gets funnier, darker, sadder. I can't wait for people to see it. A widely shared anticipation!
